The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) has updated its e-learning on the Mental Capacity Act. Click here.

Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) diplomas in health and social care include units that cover all aspects of safeguarding. Click here for qualifications information at Skills for Care.

You can access Safeguarding e-learning by self-registering with Me-learning, Suffolk County Council’s provider of e-Safeguarding training. There are courses relevant for staff working with children and/or adults. The way to access this is to e-mail elearning@suffolkscb.org.uk and you will be provided with a login and password.

The Medical Protection Society, in partnership with Cambridgeshire County Council and NHS England, has a new free Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty online learning tool specifically for health professionals across England and Wales. It will help healthcare professionals understand what the MCA is, what they need to know, how it affects them, how it affects their patients and how to apply this to their practice. Skills for Care have a Care Certificate Standards booklet that sets out the 15 standards, including those for mental health, dementia and learning disability.

Scils stands for Social Care Information and Learning Services. There are a wide range of learning materials on the Scils website to support professionals.
