An introductory training programme from the University of Nottingham to support workers and volunteers who work with carers (such as family members and friends) who are providing home-based end of life care. 

Self care is about individuals, families and communities taking responsibility for their own health and wellbeing. It includes actions people take in order to stay fit and maintain good physical and mental health, meet their social and psychological needs, prevent illness or accidents and care more effectively for minor ailments and long term conditions. A series of learning resources on the hospital care of people with dementia have been developed in collaboration with the clinical team expert in dementia care at Nottingham Universities Hospitals (NUH) and family carers of people with dementia.  The work has been funded by the Alzheimer’s Society. The three units are 1. Dementia and Cognitive Loss  2. Person-Centred Dementia Care and 3. Communication.
