End of life care is about helping people with progressive, advanced and incurable illnesses to live as well as possible until the day they die. That is to make the most of their life and opportunities that enhance their feelings of well-being.

Roles within this area of adult social care are varied – from hospice workers, to occupational therapists and palliative care specialists.

Whilst end of life care can be a complex and challenging job to do, it can be a very rewarding one as you are helping someone with every aspect of their daily life, including their cultural, social and religious needs.

A large number of people are involved end of life services, and the aim is to integrate all those roles to ensure that a person’s care needs are met and provide anything up to total support, to help them maintain their quality of life..
